Show ii ii.i...i.iiipu'ij''" ""i"1" i""11 """"" l''l'l',"vtr'f' Panguitch Elementary School Reflections winners on the "Liberty View" theme, in the art catagory were Amy Seals, Brent McKee, Rachael Konold, Joshua A local 4-H leader and Extension Service home economist were among 50 people from Utah attending at-tending the Western Regional 4-H leaders Forum held Feb. 19-22 in Albuquerque, N.M. Lucie Proctor, 4-H council member and local 4-H leader and Debbie Proctor, Utah State University Extension home economist for Garfield County, participated in the four-day seminar in Albuquerque. They boarded a bus in Salina which carried all but four of the entire Utah delegation for the one-day one-day trip to New Mexico, stopping in Moab and Monticello to pick up 4-H leaders along the way. Accompanying them were Scott McKendrick, acting state 4-H director; Tom Lee, a state 4-H specialist; three other home economists, and 41 other 4-H volunteer leaders. Five Utah volunteer leaders were recognized at the conference for over 30 years of 4-H service each. During the four-day forum, which is held annually in a different state each year, the convention-goers had a chance to take part in a variety of workshops to increase their skills as leaders, to tour the area surrounding surroun-ding Albuquerque, and to take part in several luncheons and dinners and an awards banquet. They toured historic Santa Fe, N.M., visited Indian reservations, and toured the Levi Strauss "501" jeans factory. The two Garfield County 4-H'ers presented a workshop on "T-Shirt Handley, Heidi Christy, Thomas Fagg, Airaee On, Patricia Howard, Trudi Yardley and Sam Marsk, There were 291 entries in both literature and art. 4-H Leader Attends Confab Mania," teaching their fellow 4-H leaders the latest in T-shirt-making skills. The two also participated in a leather working workshop and a class in electricity in which they each made a lamp. Debbie Proctor took part in workshops working with county ambassadors in 4-H and sewing with sergers. Lucille Pry participated in a wind workshop, a western dance d and a workshp on teaching esteem to young people. Next year's 4-H regional k, will be held in Hawaii in y. where 4-H leaders from 13 we states will participate. |
