Show Videos Available on Drugs From Sheriff In its continuing effort to make Garfield County a better, safer place to live, the Garfield County Sheriffs' Dept. has purchased three new audio-visual films. These award-winning films were developed for the department in its fight against crime, child abuse and drug abuse. The programs may be obtained through the department's Community Relations Office and are available for showing, free of charge, to schools, civic clubs, churches and parent groups. With look-alike and designer drugs and wide-spread use of cocaine, the drug abuse problem is increasingly complex. "Drugs in the Eighties" is a "state of the art" look at today's drug scene. Neighborhood Watch is a valuable crime fighting tool. "America's Toughest Gang" explains how a Watch Group is formed and duties of each member. In "The Power Kit" a brother and sister met the "Powertime Kids" and learn how to stay safe from abduction and molestation. For additional information, or to schedule a free showing of any of these films, contact Sheriff Vic Middleton, Garfield County Sheriffs' Dept, (801) 676-2678. Or Officer Than Cooper, Panguitch Police Department. Depart-ment. (801) 676-8807. |
