Show ItlST STUFF BYJflN 't Have you ever noticed for some reason when something embarrassing em-barrassing happens, people have a buried urge to share it with someone else. Oh, they don't want the whole world to know about their blunder, but for some unknown reason most people have to recount the story to at least one other person. It doesn't matter if the embarrassing em-barrassing situation goes completely com-pletely unwitnessed, never to be known by another soul do we leave well enough alone? Heaven's no! Have you ever slipped and fallen, planting your posterior on the pavement. You jump up, brush yourself off and hurriedly glance around to make sure know one saw you stumble. But when you get home, or run into a friend what happens "I did the most embarrassing em-barrassing thing today . . ." I remember baking brownies once and I forgot the eggs. After they'd been in the oven for 5 or 10 minutes I found the uncracked eggs on the counter. I pulled the brownies out of the oven and squished in the eggs. The brownies turned out to be one of my better culinary masterpieces. No one ever needed know about my mishap with the eggs, but did I keep quiet? No! As I served them I found myself saying "I did the dumbest thing cooking these brownies . . ." I don't know why we do it. Recently mom and I were on our way to a meeting at a press convention con-vention when one of the publishers, a dear lady friend of my mother's, called mom aside. "Marge, I've just got to show you this." Much to my dismay I was not let in on the secret, but I later found out that the publisher was wearing one brown shoe and one blue shoe They were not only different colors, but different dif-ferent styles altogether. No one noticed the mismatch. She could have gone all evening without anyone knowing at all, but something inside made her her secret with mom. Occasionally we're forced telling stories about ourselv, simply because someone else & know, and they will tell, so we to teli the tale before they do mer. for self-protection.
