Show Tourist Booth In Tropic Now Open In its June meeting, the Tropic town council announced that the tourist information center in Tropic had been completed and was scheduled sched-uled to open 12 hours a day, seven days week. Mayor Bob Bradley told council members that electricity at the building will be paid by the Garfield Travel Council. The council approved purchase for $5 by Reed LeFevre of all old and outdated pipe which the town had been storing at his property. The council noted that the irrigation company was putting in the required anti-siphon break in the overflow line. The Town's water sample for May proved satisfactory after testing. test-ing. The town's sewer lagoons were also reported to be functioning well. Council member Pat Pollock reported the grader was now operational opera-tional and that work would commence com-mence on grading the street sides. Maintenance work on the grader cost $700 said Pollock. Pollock, who serves a fire chief, stated that seven volunteer firefighters were ready to be certified. certi-fied. He said one of their first projects pro-jects will be to paint the fire hydrants. hy-drants. The council is working on changing the water from culinary to irrigation water when sprinkling park. The time for sprinkling is not presently operational. The council placed Royal Alvey in charge of mowing and sprinkling at the park with authority to make the decision on when it is needed. |
