L i The Merlo Kay Woolsey family , ; came from Wyoming to see the , i Haynes Woolseys. Alvin Griffin is i. spending a few weeks in the area. J The Ruth Alvey family met together to-gether at Singletree for their family reunion. Mr. and Mrs. LaDell Alvey of Kanab, and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Alvey of Cedar City met : with families here. Geneal Chatterton and daughters j spent a few days with Isabell . Spencer and relatives, jj Mr. and Mrs. Earl Roe and Mr. 'j and Mrs.. Kirk Moore of Panguitch ' came for the weekend to hear the I Kevin Moores who were speakers ' in the Escalante LDS Second Ward. Mr. and Mrs. John Michaelangelo came from California for the wed-' wed-' ding of Mr. and Mrs. David Reid 5? and were on hand for the blessing of Jf their new granddaughter, daughter of 5; 'Mr. and Mrs. Danny Reid. ffi Schow relatives learned of the death of Norman Schow of Eureka. 4l He was the son of former resident Wellings Schow. Also learned of the death of Boyd Colby who lived a in the Jode Porter home some years . ago and was instrumental in chang-i chang-i ing the telephone system from longs and shorts to dialing. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Haycock have their new home on the former Leone Haycock property. Townspeople will miss Marj Isaacson who has moved back to the FieldingTremonton area. Beverlee Mounteer, wife of Jerry Mounteer of Cedar City, was recently re-cently honored as most valuable classified employee of the year in the Iron County School District. Beverlee works as secretary and receptionist re-ceptionist at Cedar Middle School where she has been for six years. Congratulations also go to Gene Griffin and Tony Saras who competed com-peted in the Summer Olympics held in Cedar City bringing home silver medals. Gene won the silver medal among the 35-year-old and older in tennis and Tony, the silver medal in the 19-34 year-old tennis players. Melanie Griffin, mother, Thais Griffin and Mandy Saras were on hand to cheer them on. The senior citizens traveled to Salina for the Escalante reunion held last Saturday. They report seeing see-ing many former residents and having hav-ing a good time. Ethel Pollock returned home with her daughter Colleen and husband hus-band Jedd Kofoed after attending the wedding of her grandson Scott Pollock Pol-lock in the Salt Lake City area. Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Snyder have had as visitors their good friends, the Jimmy Grams of Sedona, Ariz., who come to Escalante quite often to enjoy the cooler climate. Jimmy Gram celebrated his birthday while here and the group visited Bryce Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Sharon Dale Marsh went to Cedar City to watch grandson grand-son Nathan Woolsey while Mr. and Mrs. Rick Woolsey spent their anniversary an-niversary in Las Vegas.
