Whi)e in Tropic Gary Don celebrated his birthday and enjoyed en-joyed a picnic dinner with the family. Visiting with the Robert Hurts were daughters Victoria Young and Shaunna Hurt of Las Vegas. Violet Liltlcfield has returned from a trip to Colorado with her daughter Christine Littlefield and Mr. and Mrs. Max Hodson and son Alan Hodson. While there she enjoyed en-joyed the train ride to Silverton from Durango and visited Chaco Canyon and Mesa Verde. Minnie Nielsen was hostess to the family home evening group. Val Shakespear and Kent Miles visited with Marian Shakespear. Kathy Davis is visiting at the Wallace Ott home and helping Wallace while Mary is in the hospital in Provo recovering from back surgery. We are happy to see Agnes Littlefield Lit-tlefield home from the hospital and able to get around again. The heat and the gnats have kept many Tropic residents indoors. The Arnold Adair's son Larry Adair was one of the competitors in the recent Summer Games in Cedar City, winning a gold medal in the shot put, and bronze medal as a member of a relay team. Sixty-three members of the William Dane LeFevre family held their annual reunion in the Tropic Park Saturday June 25. Marion LeFevre of New Mexico was the only member of the original family present. The Gene Prouse family, descendants of Rachel LeFevre, had the most family members present. Mr. and Mrs. La Mar LeFevre were in charge of the reunion. LDS Stake Presidents Richard Crawford and John Yardley were in attendance at the missionary report for Sean Stewart. Keela Mangum made a trip to Ogden and brought Champ Moore home to spend the summer with his mother Ruby Moore. Amplus LeFevre has returned home after spending a week in Monroe with her son Wcldon. Several senior citizens went to St. George and Cedar City in the van for shopping and eye appointments. appoint-ments. The Stan Otts are in Salt Lake City for Stan to have medical checkup, and to spend July 4th with their daughters. Minnie Nielsen accompanied ac-companied them and is visiting with her sisters Verdclla and Ellen. She will spend Verdella's birthday with her while in Ogden. Malen Littlefield made a trip to Salt Lake City to bring his wife Sara home. She had been with Mary Ott at the hospital when Mary had surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Greg Pollock and Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Mecham had wedding anniversaries June 26. Shaunna and Sherrie Mecham and Arnold Adair had birthdays the same day. Sharron Kay Wintch was in Cedar City on business Saturday. Several Tropic boys and girls were in Panguitch to see the Jazz basketball players and attend their seminar. The Virgil Pollocks have their grandchildren Tyler, Gentry and Delani Barnson visiting with them from Delta. The E.R. Shakespear family had their family reunion Saturday at the family home in Tropic. Larry and Shane Adair visited with the Arnold Adairs and had birthday dinner with them, helping Arnold celebrate. Mr. and Mrs. John L. LeFevre, son Daren LeFevre and daughter Linda LeFevre visited with the Layne LeFevres and with Flora LeFevre. The LDS young adults held an opening social and cookout Wednesday evening at Cooks Ranch. Visiting with the Reginald Stewarts were sons Duane Stewart, Escalante; Leon Stewart, Monroe; Glade Stewart, Boulder City, Nev.; and Max Stewart and their families. Scott Chynoweth and Crissy Chynoweth were in Tropic for the missionary report and to visit relatives rela-tives and friends. Lucille Proctor tested pressure cookers Wednesday. LDS R' lief Society work meeting meet-ing will be Tuesday, July 5 at 7 p.m. in the church. Mr. and Mrs. Birch Moore spent the weekend with the Mateland Baugh family. Tina Foster fell and broke her elbow. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Mecham are visiting with the Lowell Mechams. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Clarke are visiting with the Lester Clarkes. The Stan Otts had their daughter and son-in-law the Stan Arce's spend the weekend with them. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Ott attended the Summer Games in Cedar City where their son True Ott won a gold medal for bowling. The Dan Chapmans and Mr. and Mrs. Daly Chapman visited Viva Mecham. They make their home in Canada. The program in LDS sacrament meeting was the welcome home for Sean Stewart from his mission to Japan. Talks were given by Phyllis, Max and Sean Stewart. Musical numbers were furnished by Cozette Stewart, Cami Stewart and Shalynn Stewart, and Nancy Ware, Jen Clarke, Raja Servant and Tiffany Tucker. Family members from out of town enjoying Sean's mission report re-port and a family dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. Wes Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Ware, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lunt, Helen Tucker, Cesia Lindgren, Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. Brent Robinson, Terry Hopkins, Hop-kins, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Stewart, and Mr. and Mrs. Glade Stewart and families. Mr. and Mrs. Larvin Pollock have a new grandson born in Cedar City to Mr. and Mrs. Blake Allen. Eva is spending a few days with the family and getting acquainted with the little grandson. We were happy to have a rainy Sunday afternoon. It surely put life back into the parched ground, gardens, gar-dens, and farmers. |
