Show Permits Issued For Boulder Cougar BOULDER - The Utah Wildlife Board has authorized ten restricted permits to hunt cougar next fall in the Boulder Mountain cougar study area. The season will be open from November 17, 1984, through January 31, 1985. Should any of the ten permittees not be able to hunt, alternates will be selected to replace them. Successful applicants will also be entitled to a regular permit valid on unrestricted areas of the state. Division of Wildlife Resources biologists and Dr. Fred Lindzey of Utah State University set up the experimental hunt to assess the effects of harvest on cougar populations.
