Show Forest Fire Destroys 300 Acres TEASDALE A forest fire which burned over some 300 acres on Dixie National Forest near Teasdale, was officially declared contained last Thursday evening, and controlled Friday at 6 p.m. Forest officials said there were some 170 persons fighting the fire, along with the use of two bulldozers, one helicopter and four fire engines. The fire started last Wednesday afternoon and quickly spread through the tinder-dry area. At one point some 140 campers from a Richfield church group camping at Singletree Campgrounds, were threatened by the blaze and had to ,be evacuated. All of their equipment and Vehicles were saved and there were no injuries. Other campers in the area also got out without incident. |
