Show Swimming Races Added To July 4th Program An exciting new event has been added to the traditional July 4 activities in Panguitch. Swim races will be held at the Panguitch Community Pool beginning at 4 p.m. An entry fee of 25 cents to pay for ribbons will be assessed for each race. Seven and eight year olds will be required to swim across the pool at the shallow end for this competition. Nine to 13-year-olds will be required to swim the front crawl, back crawl or elementary back stroke, wide stroke and breast stroke. First, second, third and fourth place ribbons will be awarded. 9 The main event will be jackpot swimming for 14 years and up with an entry fee of $1 per person and featuring four swimmers to a team. The contest will be in three parts: a raft, obstacle course, and a relay race. Teams will be timed. In charge of planning the swimming activities is Ann Reynolds. |
