Show Topics - - Tropic Ella Adair The Earl Jolleys attended the wedding and reception for their grandson Larry Smith in St. George. They also attended the missionary testimonial for Tim Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dar Smith who will leave for an LDS mission to Ireland. Clare Ramsay was injured when a piece of pipe fell from a truck and broke his leg. The Af ton Pollock family attended the missionary testimonial for grandson Tice Palmer in Loa. They were also In St. George to attend the LDS temple with the Palmers and the Campbells. Eleven of the Bryce Valley senior citizens enjoyed a trip to Boulder to visit the Anasazi Museum and other places of interest. Former Governor Calvin and Mrs. Rampton were also there and the group had an enjoyable visit with them. Mrs. Rampton, a well-known anthropologist who was instrumental in helping with the development of the Anasazi Indian Village state park gave them some interesting information about the Indians who formerly inhabited the area. Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson attended the combined reunion of the Victor Sylvester and George Wilson families. Fifty family members were in attendance. It was Tracy Feltner whose arm was broken, not Tracy Littlefield as reported last week. Mr. and Mrs. John Eagan were weekend guests at the Arnold Adair home. She is the former Liz Cairo. Flora LeFevre has another great granddaughter. Proud parents are Mr. and Mrs. Lyle J. LeFevre and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John L. LeFevre. Vickie Ahlstrom had minor surgery recently. VerDella Nielsen and Lou Jean Sudweeks were patients in the hospital in Panguitch. Zora Bell Pollock had hip surgery in the hospital in Yakima, Washington. Marian Shakespear is visiting with her family members in Star Valley, Wyo. The Lady Lions held a breakfast party at the Cannonville Park. Charlotte Littlefield went with husband Jay on his trucking trip this week. The Lester Clarkes had members of their family home: Diane Lamb, Downey, Idaho; Wesley, Salt Lake City; April, Provo and Karen; Or-derville. Son Ivan is in Tropic. The Robert Hurts have a grandson from Las Vegas visiting with them. Margaret Mecham had a cousin and family visit from Salt Lake City. Vickie Syrett had her parents, a brother, son Alan and daughter Karen home for David's testimonial. The Charley Franciscos had Robyn Griffin and Kassie Lewis, home for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Ott, Mr. and Mrs. Malen Littlefield, Sherrell Ott and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ott attended funeral services for James Ott in Orem. The Andy Strubble family held a family dinner in Tropic and had a program in the scout house. Julie Ahlstrom attended girls camp at Brigham Young University. Mr. and Mrs. James Larson, Oak City visited with Malen Mecham. Luella Mangum had daughter Laura Cottam as a weekend visitor. Ann Griffin, her daughter Carol and Gloria Chynoweth attended the Griffin reunion in Escalante. Mike Goulding has gone home to visit with his mother in California. Stoney Pollock had a few friends in for a sleeping party on his birthday. Shane Anderson, Justin Baugh and Gary Syrett attended basketball camp at BYU. A stork shower for Rose Hunt was held at the home of Ora Brinkerhoff . Jeff Brinkerhoff celebrated his j ninth birthday with a sleeping and movie party at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell Brinkerhoff. A missionary dinner for David Jensen was held at the town park. Due to a water shortage, the town citizens have been asked to conserve on culinary water usage until further notice. Mr. and Mrs. Blake Allen visited with the Larvin Pollocks and took their small son home with them. The Ben Riddles have their grandson from Phoenix visiting with them. The Adrian Pollocks held their family reunion at Pine Lake. Present were: Darlene LeFevre, Garn L. Pollock, Dee Pollock, Hazel Saunders and the Royce Pollock families. Twenty five family members were present. The DeVar Pollocks have daughter Linda visiting with them. Mr, and Mrs. Birch Moore and son visited with the Mateland Baughs. Ruth Baugh returned to Las Vegas with them for a short visit. Judy Chynoweth and family spent a week in Arizona with husband Evan. Speakers in sacrament meeting were Karen Payne, Norman Erfckson, Arthur Syrett, Vickie Syrett, Bishop Rodney Syrett and David Jensen. A musical number was performed by Catherine Littlefield and Lynette Littlefield. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Stratford were Tropic visitors. Beth Ann Applegate and Zina McDonald were also in town. |
