Show AREA OBITUARIES James A. Ott TROPIC Funeral services were held in Orem, June 22 for James A. Ott, a former resident of Tropic who died June 18 at Orem. He was born in Tropic, February 22, 1905, to James R. and Janet M. Ott. He married Virginia Spencer in the St. George LDS Temple, Dec. 29, 1931. She died July 5, 1980. He was a former seminary teacher in Tropic and also taught junior high school in St. George for 22 years. He served as an LDS missionary in the southern states and in northern California. He was former member of two bishoprics and served as a high councilman. Survivors include two sons, J. Bevan Ott and Clarence Eric Ott, both Orem; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Sherrie Ann) Jackson, Cedar City; 20 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren; one brother, Wallace Ott, Tropic; and five sisters, Mrs. Charley (Hope) Wintch, Mrs. Malen (Sara) Lit-tlefield and Mrs. Ira (Agnes) Lit-tlefield of Tropic; Mrs. Alton (Louie) Shakespeare, Orderville; and Mrs. Gam (Rose) Olson, Salt Lake City. Burial was in the Orem City Cemetery. |
