"I worked hard in practice to earn my position now, and all I want to do is contribute to the team. I dont need the ball all the time. I can help out by rebounding and blocking a few shots I just want to be a winner, said the veteran. Willis did not play organized for six years upon graduation from high school, and he finally was coaxed back by his J.C. coach, Robert DeWitt. Immediately, Harry's name came to mind. "Arizona State and Colorado were also interested in Harry, but I think we got him because we were forthright and direct in our approach. The Golden Eagles presently are second in the International Hockey Leagues Western Division. But the Admirals are just four points behind Salt Lake. Milwaukee has also played five fewer games. Thats a possible swing of 10 points in the standings. Thomas said his club didnt play well in the first two periods of loss to the Admirals. Wednesdays Whether they sat back totally and allowed us to play well in the third period Im not sure. But if we can continue to work as hard as we did in the third period, I think well be in good shape. One area where the Golden Eagles havent been in good shape has been d on their power play. Three goals have been scored against them in four games. Its something you dont like to see. I think the teams that work as as they do hard are the ones with the power-plapercentages in the mid 20s. We tend to relax a little bit and it's just the nature of the beast right now, offered Thomas. The Milwaukee defense was also able to put somewhat of a lid of IHL scoring leader Scott MacLeod. MacLeod did manage two assists, but was held to only two shots on goal. He didnt have a shot on goal in the final period Wednesday night. Lindsay Middlebrook will probably be back in the nets for the Admirals. Middlebrook has beaten the Golden Eagles three straight times in the Salt Palace. He will be opposed by Rick Heinz. Thomas says both are goaltenders. "The goaltending in this league can really sway hockey games. You have a lot of experienced guys and a lot of guys on the way up with good futures in front of them. Greg Tebbutt, who scored the goal in the series opener, says the whole team is fully aware of what with the Golden Eagles means in terms of moving up in the standings. Its been a bizzare series to say the least. The visiting team has won all five games (Salt Lake twice in Milwaukee and the Admirals three times here). Middlebrook has been involved in every decision. veteran To say the goaltender has made an impact on the team's play this season would be an understatement. Of the 22 Milwaukee wins, Middlebrook is directly responsible for 18 of them. Heinz carries a somewhat deceprecord into the game. He tive 14 actually has been accountable for victories counting IHL shootouts. Middlebrook has also posted a pair of shootout wins.
