Show The Salt Lake Tribune, 19H6 A 13 Caladium will add a touch of color to a shady area I I i II 1 Fridav, January 24, 1 ij O sif 11 By Genevieve H Folsom Tribune Garden Editor There are a number of fancy and colorful foliage plants that will brighten the garden, especially in shady areas where color is needed the most Caladiums are one of these exotic plants with unusual shape and delightful color combinations. Colors range from delicate to splashy pinks, deep to vibrant greens, vivid to muted red, the cool whites and rich cream hues. The fancy leaf caladiums have a fuil heart shape and are excellent for mass plantings in the calashady areas. The lanced-leavediums are much smaller than the fan d cy leaf and produce a smaller leaf with a ripped edge like a fluffy ruffle These are good for planting in containers or used as accent plants Caladiums are tropical plants originating from the Amazon basin in Brazil. They can be grown any place tn the United States. While the caladi-uis a foliage plant with attractive and bright foliage, there is a flower which is small.
