Show Bountiful Lions Club seeks members By JAMS STUART Clipper Correspondent j BOUNTIFUL The Bountiful Lions Club is ex tending an open invitation to the residents of the Boun- tiful area to join its prestigious organization. i A special membership orientation meeting will be held April 22. Club president Paul R. Allen at 295-1397 or committee members at 295-0542, 295-3373 or 295-9293 295-9293 will supply further information regarding the location of the meeting. Lions Club members are civic-minded men and women of all ages who pledge to provide unselfish service ser-vice to their communities and to be of assistance to those in need. Members goals are to improve their communities and make them better places in which to ' live and to raise families. Lions are active in more than 160 countries throughout the world. There are no restrictions based upon race, creed or sex. The only necessary require-! require-! ment is love for one's fellow man and a dedication to the expression of that love through service. Lofty goals have been achieved by Lions club members. They strive to promote the principles of good government and good citizenship. They also take an active ac-tive interest in civic and cultural promotions. Projects receiving the benefit of Lions club members are varied. They range from recreation services, such as building parks and playgrounds to the development of drug awareness programs for young people. -r,. ;ons neip m projects involving programs and 1 Voric for" the blind and in hearing conservation and work for the deaf. The Bountiful Lions have served the community for 45 years. Numerous projects have been completed which have contributed to the improvement of the community. Rifle, pistol and trap ranges have been established; play toys for children at the 4th North Park and the 13th East Park have been installed; and a soothing hot tub at the bubble pool has been installed. Valuable assistance to the visually unpaired through an annual Christmas social and annual contributions in support of the Utah Lions Eye Bank are of enormous import to the community. com-munity. The special membership meeting is an opportunity for citizens to meet with the Bountiful Lions and become acquainted with other men and women of the community who share a concern for that community and for those less fortunate. |
