Show rift Sgt. Dan K. Kunze Dan K. Kunze completes Army service Sgt. Dan K. Kunze, son of Mi. and Mrs. Emil Kunze, has received his discharge from the Army at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky Ken-tucky after completing his duty in the service. He entered the service May 9, 1967 and completed his basic ba-sic training in Texas and Louisiana. Lou-isiana. He went to Vietnam in October of 1967 where he received re-ceived the Army Commendation Medal for meriotorius service. The citation read as follows: Sp4 Dan K. Kunze, US Army, Co. B, 2d Batt. 35th Inf. 4th Inf. Div. who distinguished himself by exceptionally merit-orius merit-orius service in support of allied al-lied conterinsurgency operations opera-tions in the Republic of Vietnam. Viet-nam. During the period Oct. 1967 to Oct. 1968 while serving serv-ing as an Ammunition Bearer, Machine Gunner, Team Leader and Squad Leader, he astutely surmounted extremely adverse conditions to obtain consistently consistent-ly superior results. Through diligence and determination he invariably accocmplished every task with dispatch and efficiency. effi-ciency. His unrelenting loyalty initiative and perserverance brought him wide acclaim and inspired others to strive for maximum achievement. Self-lessly Self-lessly working long and ardous hours, he has contributed significantly signi-ficantly to the success of the allied effort. His commendable performance was in .keeping with the finest traditions of the military service and reflects re-flects distinct credit upon himself him-self and the United States Army. Sgt. Kunze completed his year's stay in Vietnam and returned re-turned to the United States and finished his service at Fort Campbell where he was discharged dis-charged May 9. He plans to continue his education at the BYU this fall. |
