Show Education Week to attract many local people to BYU June 10-13 p.m. in the Smith Auditorium. "And They Shall Be Gathered," Gath-ered," the story of an Armenian Armen-ian family which comes into contact with Mormonism, will run nightly during Education Week at 8:15 p.m. in the Par-doe Par-doe Drama Theatre of the Harris Har-ris Fine Arts Center. Written by Martin Kelly, a BYU student, stu-dent, and directed by Dr. Charles Whitman, the play is based on a true story told to Mr. Kelly. The Church's Family Movie of the Year for 1968, "To Sir, With Love," will be shown daily at 5:45 and 8 p.m. in the Varsity Theatre. Starring Sidney Sid-ney Potier, the movie portrays the real life experiences of E. R. Braithwaite. Elder Spencer W. Kimball, member of the Council of the Twelve of the LDS Church, will address special devotional assembly as-sembly Friday, June 13, at 11 a.m. in the George Albert Smith Fieldhouse. Also scheduled to speak at the daily 11 a.m. devotional assemblies are Dr. Harold Glen Clark, dean of the Division Divis-ion of Continuing Education at BYU (Tuesday), Dr. James C. Fletcher, president of the University Uni-versity of Utah (Wednesday), and Paul F. Royall, general secretary, The Genealogical Society So-ciety of the LDS Church (Thursday). Registration desks in the Wilkinson Center will open at 7 a.m., daily. Pre-registratron information is available by contacting con-tacting the Education Week offices, room 118, Harold R. "Adventures in Learning" is the theme of the 46th Annual Campus Education Week which is expected to attract thousands thou-sands to Brigham Young University Uni-versity June 10-13. Open to the public, Education Educa-tion Week was attended by nearly 4,000 persons from 24 states and three foreign countries coun-tries last summer. Classes will be taught on an informal, non-crcedit basis from 7:15 a.m. to 8 p.m. A large variety of subjects is available, ranging from an inside in-side look at the Soviet Union to an in-depth study of church history. In addition to the hundreds of classes being offered, several exhibits and evening entertainment entertain-ment have been scheduled for the wek. A crafts and hobbies display will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Wilkinson Wilkin-son Center ballroom on the sec-1 sec-1 ond floor. Tuesday evening, June 10 at I 8:15 p.m. in the Joseph Smith I Auditorium, there will be held a program entitled "BYU Motion Mo-tion Pictures on Parade," featuring fea-turing Scott Whitaker, director direc-tor of the BYU Motion Picture Production Deparatment. "A Showcase of Talent," I with KSL's weatherman, Bob A Welti, will be featured Wednes-! Wednes-! day, June 11, at 8:15 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall of the Harris Fine Arts Center. Outstanding Out-standing BYU talent will keynote key-note the evening. Noted adventurer John L. Cross will narrate his film "Adventures in Remote Jungle Areas South of the Border" Thursday, June 12, at 8:15 |
