Show City to purchase new patrol; roads classified Springville City will purchase pur-chase a new patrol :t was decided de-cided at the regular council meeting held Monday night. Councilman Child presented a lease agreement with an option op-tion to purchase the new machine. ma-chine. Under the terms the city is to pay Wheeler Machinery Mach-inery Company 510,000 on July 15, 1969, $7,000 on July 15, 1970 and $7,000 on July 15, 1971. At the end of two years the city may acquire title to the patrol upon payment of the additional sum of $5,399.51. Mayor Pro Tern Murray D. Peay and Verl S. Dallin, as city recorder, were authorized and directed to sign the lease agreement and were also authorized auth-orized and directed to sign and deliver a bill of sale to the company transferring title to the City's old patrol lor a credit cre-dit to the city of $5,399.51. It was passed unanimously by all council members present. A clarification of the Weight Avenue street was made when Nolan and Vaun Weight met with the council to ascertain if the city claimed Weight Avenue as a public street. City buys patrol I Continued from Page One.) cil of Springville, Utah, is of the opinion that Weight Avenue Ave-nue is a private roadway and Springville City does not consider con-sider the same to be a public street or in any way a part of its street system. The motion mo-tion was duly seconded by CI. Baxter and on being put to a vote passed unanimously. The tentative budget for the fiscal year 1969-70 was approved ap-proved and a public hearing set for June 16 at 7:30 p.m. Lowell M. Baker met with the council concerning culinary water on the Collett property in Hobble Creek Canyon. The connection can be made under certain conditions and with the signing a contract to be prepared pre-pared by the city attorney. City Council members were invited to the Strawberry Days celebration at Pleasant Grove and were given rodeo tickets. The council in turn invited the representatives to attend Art City Days here. Martin Conover of the Art City Publishing Co. met with the council concerning some advertising. Details will be worked out at a later date with money for this purpose included in the new fiscal budget bud-get for 1969-70. A resolution was made withdrawing with-drawing the city from the new Utah Public Safety Retirement Act of 1969 and to continue coverage under the Utah State Retirement Act. Motion was unanimous. |
