Celebrating their Golden Wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. M. Oscar Boyer of this city, accompanied by members of their family, attended the evening session Wednesday of last week at the Salt Lake LDS Temple, where they were married 50 years ago. Their sons and daughters with their wives and husbands, were in attendance with exception ex-ception of a daughter, Marjory, and her husband, Ted E. Davis, who were enroute to California, to make thier home. A granddaughter, Judy Law, also attended as did sons, Francis Boyer and wife of Provo; Stanley Boyer and wife of Springville; daughters, Mrs. Glen (Virginia) Law and husband, hus-band, Springville Mrs. Leland C. (Elaine) Laney and husband of Bountiful; Mrs. Lee J (Genevieve) Lee and husband of Salt Lake City. Later in the evening, the group attended dinner in Salt Lake City with a beautifu1 cake, symbolizing the Golden Wedding, centering the dining table. The children presented their parents with a gift and a tribute tri-bute was read by Mrs. Boyer to her husband. Mr. Boyer was born in Springville, a son of Myron and Eliza Clegg Boyer. He has-lived has-lived in Springville most of his life attending school here and at Brigham Young University He worked 32 years at Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company, Com-pany, where he became an electrician. elec-trician. He has served more than 22 years as clerk of the Third Ward and has also worked in other organizations and has done temple and genealogy gen-ealogy work. Mrs. Boyer was born on a farm near Mancos, Colorado, a daughter of Lafayette and Phoebe Perkins Guymon. She moved with her parents to Kirtland, N. M., and then to Provo. She attended BYU three years. When Mr. and Mrs. Boyer had two children, he was called to serve an LDS mission to the Eastern States. While he was away, Mrs. Boyer and the children chil-dren lived at Toadlena, N.M., where she was assistant postmaster. post-master. She has always been active in church organizations and served a stake mission. They have made their home throughout their married life in the home of a grandfather,. |
