The Physers Club of the high school had a sleigh-riding party par-ty at the hill in Maple Canyon Friday night, followed by a chili supper at the home of Robert Sayer. Mr. Cummins mathematics instructor at the high school, was in charge of the party. About forty-five members were present. Camp Union DUP held their January meeting at the home of Thelma DeGraw. Captain Afton Barker conducted the meeting. A history of Philo Dibble one of the earliest pioneers pio-neers of Mapleton, was read by Berniece Everett. The lesson les-son about a Scotchman by the name of Archibald Ririe, was given by Gladys Johnson. A special dance number was given giv-en by Debbie Lang, a niece of Mrs. DeGraw's. She is a member mem-ber of "The Utah Rockettes" a dance group who went to New York recently. Special guests were Debbie's mother, Mrs. Vera Lang and Mrs. Wilda Oakley, a representative represen-tative of the county officers. Doris Halverson assisted Mrs. DeGraw as hostess. Mapleton News Mrs. Blake Everett Some Mapleton people were injured in a head-on collision Friday night at Mt. Pleasant. Ronald and Shirley Graves and Gene and Shirlene Daniels were on their way to the Man-ti Man-ti Temple when a car turned directly across the highway in their path, causing the crash. Mr. and Mrs. Graves were hospitalized hos-pitalized at the Utah Valley Hospital from Friday until Monday. Mrs. Graves suffered a concussion, chipped verta-brae, verta-brae, cut hand and knee and many bad bruises. Mr. Graves had torn muscles in his leg and bad bruises. He was also treated for shock. Mr. and Mrs. Daniels were bruised and shaken up, but did not require hospitalization. Mrs. Louise Bramall of Springville, mother of Mrs. Graves has been staying at their home for the past week. Ruby Lessard is visiting in Magna at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Louise Lou-ise and Blaine Jackman. The Jackmans have a new baby daughter. It is Mrs. Lessard's first granddaughter. The baby has a brother. Mr .and Mrs. Kelsey Lee had Tisitors last Thursday and Friday. Fri-day. Mrs. Lee's sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Emil L. Anderson of Tremonton stayed over-night with them. Camp Mapleton DUP held their January meeting last Thursday at the home of Van-da Van-da Jensen. Captain Belva Wentz conducted the meeting and the opening song was led by Laura Bird accompanied by Vanda Jensen. Minutes were read by Vanda Jensen. Members Mem-bers were urged by Inez Har-mer Har-mer to get new histories. A tribute to two departed members, mem-bers, Birdie Nielson and Senate Sen-ate Mendenhall was given by Marva Whiting. A history of Lars Peter Jensen was given by a daughter-in-law, Vanda Jensen. A piano solo was given giv-en by Mrs. Howard Stevens. The lesson concerning two early Scotchmen, who came to America and settled in this area was given by Martha Whiting. Hostesses were Gladys Perry, LaVerl Young and Vanda Jensen. Ann Court White and baby son are visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Court. Mrs. White's husband hus-band is in the Air Force and has been sent to Thailand. They have been living in Oregon. Ore-gon. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Allen made a trip by plane to Little Sioux, Iowa, where they visited their daughter, Barbara, and her husband, Roger Taylor.
