Show This weekend Conference planned in Kolob Stake with guest speakers Preparations are being made for Kolob Stake Quarterly Conference Saturday and Sunday, Sun-day, January 22 and 23. All meetings will be held in Kolob Stake House under direction of Stake President Ernest A. Strong, Jr. Sessions to which : the general public is invited to "j attend will be held Sunday at j 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Special guests at the conference con-ference will be Elder Elmer M. j Christensen, Salt Lake City, a member of the Prieshood Home Teaching Commmittee of the ! Church, and Minnie E. Ander-I Ander-I son, representing the Desert j Sunday School Union. They will conduct special leadership meetings Saturday for priesthood priest-hood and Sunday School executives, execu-tives, and will be guest speakers speak-ers at the general sessions Sunday. Elder Christensen is a graduate grad-uate of the University of Utah and has been Utah State chemist chem-ist since 1934. He also has served ser-ved on the Granite District School Board and as chairman of the advisory committee of the Salt Lake Trade Technical Institute. As a missionary for the church, he served in the German-Austrian Mission. Mrs. Anderson, Salt Lake City, has been an officer and teacher in various church auxiliary aux-iliary organizations, and is presently a member of the Sunday School's general board. Leadership meetings Saturday Satur-day afternoon, to which priesthood priest-hood and Sunday School ward and stake officers have been invited to atttend, will be held from 2 to 5 p.m.; Saturday evening eve-ning at 7, and the following are urged to attend a special session for leaders: all members mem-bers of both stake and ward committees for priesthood home teaching, state high councilors, and stake and ward Sunday School superintenden-cies. superintenden-cies. A filmstrip will be presented pre-sented at this meeting to explain ex-plain the basic principles and organization of the church correlation cor-relation program as it operates from the First Presidency down through the organizations organiza-tions to the individual member of the Church. The priesthood home teaching committee and Sunday School board representatives represen-tatives will also speak. Music for the morning general gen-eral session of the conference Sunday will be by the Maple-ton Maple-ton Second Ward Choir under direction of Marilyn Tuttle. In the afternoon the Gaynotes and Blazer children of the ward Primaries will sing special selections se-lections under the direction of Shirley Graves and accompanied accompan-ied by June Houtz. |
