Show Meet planned on how to control weeds A weed school will be held for Utah and Wasatch Counties, Coun-ties, January 31, in Room 200 City and County Building, according to Joel C. Barlow, USU Extension Agent. Home owners, including ladies, farmers, farm-ers, ranchers, land agency representatives rep-resentatives and other interested inter-ested in weeds are invited to attend this weed school. ! It will begin at 9:30 a.m. : and end at 3:30 p.m. Ways of controlling weeds around homes and in communities, including in-cluding weeds along streets, roads, fence lines and vacant lot will be explained. New effective ef-fective weed chemicals for hard jj to kill weeds such as Morning j Glory, Canada Thistle, Quack- grass and similar weeds will interest those who have been looking for such chemicals that really work. Professor Louis A. Jensen will be present to give us effective ef-fective control methods developed devel-oped for all kinds of weeds. ! Some of these include preven- ; tion, cultivation, hoeing, burning, burn-ing, cutting, providing competition compe-tition and using chemicals known as herbicides. Explanations of new programs pro-grams to help control weeds, reports on local problems and a question and answer period will all help to make this school a most valuable experience exper-ience for those who attend. j |
