Show Harold S. Crane, UFG director, had fine record Director Horald S. Crane died Thursday, January 6, in a Salt Lake City hospital. He hed served the people of Utah i and the Nation in many capac ities during the 18 years he had been with the Utah State Department De-partment of Fish and Game. During his tenure with the Department, he worked as a game biologist, Chief of Game Management, Department Director, Di-rector, Chairman of the Utah Board of Big Game Control, and Secretary to the Fish and Game Commission. He was an internationally known figure in the field of conservation, held many high offices in a number of organizations organi-zations concerned with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. Manage-ment. Mr. Crane served with honor hon-or during World War II and was an Army captain at the war's end. He was the first Utah Director Di-rector with professional training train-ing in the wildlife field. He graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree de-gree from the University. His immediate survivors are his wife, Mabel Louise Bowen Crane whom he married Dec. 20, 1943; his father and mother, moth-er, Mr. and Mrs. S. N. Crane, Draper; children, Cheryl, Steven Ste-ven and Cherie all of Salt Lake City; and six brothers and sisters. sis-ters. Assistant Director, John E.
