Show -' v x - Miss Ada Smith, 72, retired teacher, for whom services were held Monday Jan. 17 Services held Monday for local educator Funeral services were held Monday in the Second-Eighth Ward Chapel, for Ada Smith, 72, 670 South 1st East, retired school teacher, who died Wednesday, Wed-nesday, January 12, 1966, at the home of-a niece "in -Salt Lake City. She had been in ill health for several years. Bishop Morgan Thomas of the Second Ward, was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Ceme-tery, directed by Wheeler Mortuary. Miss Smith was born April 1, 1893, in Springville, daughter daugh-ter of Andrew R. and Matilda Stoker Smith. She attended schools in this city and received re-ceived a normal degree from the University of Utah in 1913. She later received her bachelor of science degree from Brigham Toung University Univer-sity in 1938. Miss Smith taught elementary elemen-tary school in Bunkerville, Nevada; Ne-vada; Oak City, Utah and later la-ter in the Nebo School District, Dis-trict, retiring in 1958. She was a member of the American Association of University Uni-versity Women and the DUP Camp Hobble Creek. She was a member of the LDS Church, serving in the presidency of the MIA and had served a stake mission. She also al-so served as librarian of the Springville Second Ward. Surviving are two sisters, Elda and Lola Smith, Springville; Spring-ville; and three nieces. |
