Show Interesting program given at auxiliary Karen Johnson, who returned return-ed about a year ago from an assignment with the Peace Corps in Liberia, Africa, presented pre-sented a most interesting program pro-gram at the meeting of the Legion Auxiliary Wednesday evening. She was introduced by Mrs. Helen Crandall, program pro-gram chair man. President Gladys Pennington was in charge of the meeting, attended attend-ed by approximately forty members and guests. Miss Johnson, presently attending at-tending BYU, described the climate, the soil and other geographic geo-graphic aspects of the country in which she served as a teacher tea-cher some 18 months. In connection con-nection with her talk, she showed pictures of the people in their native dress, their homes and work methods which were all crude in comparison com-parison to our country. However How-ever the palace of the ruler was most elaborately built, seemingly to impress foreigners. foreign-ers. Mrs. Lois Buchanan entertained enter-tained with vocal selections accompanied ac-companied by Julia Sumsion. Refreshments were served at the close of the meeting by hostesses Alta Olsen, Mary Witney, Marilyn Reed, Inez Chader, Doris Gay and Manila Brown. ' |
