Show William Bird to observe 80th birthday William Bird, a resident of Springville all his life, will observe ob-serve his 80th birthday next Tuesday, June 1, at the family residence, 280 West First So. Bom in Springville June 1, 1885, he is the son of Richard LeRoy and Elizabeth Wells Mendenhall Bird, early settlers of this community. Mr. Bird filled an LDS Mission Mis-sion to New Zealand from 1911 to 1913 and has always taken an active part in LDS Church activity. He is a high priest and does considerable temple work. He married Myrtle Phillips, April 26, 1916, in the Salt Lake Temple and they have three sons, Thomas L. Bird, Springville; Spring-ville; Karl P. Bird, ISalt Lake City and Arus W. Bird, Beav-erton, Beav-erton, Oregon. There are also 12 grandchildren. With the exception of 12 years whlie he was employed at Geneva, Mr. Bird has followed fol-lowed farming. He still takes a special pride in his garden and flowers and has a beautiful beauti-ful and well-kept yard. He and Mrs. Bird are looking look-ing forward to their golden wedding anniversary next April. |
