Lynn Hanks; Randy Thorn, student body president; Mrs. Inez Clegg, junior high PTA president; Mark Anderson, president of Nebo School District Board of Education, who express best wishes. Junior high awarded accreditation certificate at special assembly Signifying that every department depart-ment and the personnel at the Springville Junior High School meets .certain high standards, a certificate of accreditation was presented the school, at a special assembly Thursday of last week, under direction of Principal C. Lynn Hanks. Several visiting officials representing rep-resenting the district and state and junior high school accreditation accredi-tation committee, were in at- tendance. The student body assembly as-sembly also recognized outstanding out-standing efforts of everyone at the school. Elmo Keck and Orpha Dee Johnson gave a vocal duet, accompanied ac-companied by Thomas Biesin-ger Biesin-ger followed by a talk by Dr. Sterling Callahan, member of the state junior high accreditation accredita-tion program for Utah junior high schools. Grant Gardner, assistant su- perintendent of Nebo District, discussed efforts for accreditation accredita-tion of the district and Principal Prin-cipal Hanks for the school. Alton Al-ton Forsgren, coordinator of Secondary Education, State Dept. of Public instruction, reported re-ported on personnel and Dr. Quentin E. Utley, administrator, administra-tor, Division of Elementary and Second a r y Education, State Department, gave a report re-port on the State Junior High accreditation committee. Dr. Sanford M. Bingham of the state board of education, made the presentation of Certificate Cer-tificate of Accreditation, accepted ac-cepted by Principal Hanks. Randy Thorn, student body president, responded. A response re-sponse was also made by Mark Anderson, president of Nebo School Board. The Springville Junior High School was the fifth in the state to be accredited. With presentation of the certificate, cer-tificate, the schools received a number of commendations and some recommendations. t |
