Show "Fore" Centuries on the Golf Course NEW YORK "Fore ' centuries after Mary, Queen of Scots, flailed her way around St. Andrews golf course, the nation's manufacturers of golfing equipment have kicked off a campaign to win the hearts of the missus and junior miss. Evidence of the effort crowded every corner of the New York Coliseum recently at the 1964 Annual International Golf Show. Women accounted for a healthy percentage of the 250,000 visitors vis-itors who jammed into the show, and they weren't disappointed. . Most of the 1,000 exhibits featured equipment, devices and innovations designed specifically for the girls. One such display, featuring clubs with red and blue nylon heads, drew tremendous attention. The clubs, manufactured by Nyloncraft of South Bend, Indiana, are part of a newly-introduced line of Nylowoods According to Bob Wyllie, Nyloncraft's president, the nylon clubs aan be molded m many colors. They are presently available at pro shops in black, and simulated mahogany, as well as in red and blue. The colors, ce course, attract the women," says Wyllie. But many other advantages of nylon are attracting the men " borne of those advantages." says Wyllie, "include: no shrinkage, shrink-age, swelling, chipping or cracking.
