Show Norma Mock wins in Provo tourney Norma Mock', one of the top women bowlers in the state, added further laurels to her trophy collection by outbowling all her competitors to win the third annual Bullock's Jewel Box Ladies Singles Bowling Tournament at Provo. From a field of 200 bowlers, Mrs. Mock came up with an outstanding average of 205 pins to win. She rolled games of 256, 220, 168, 187, 200 and 202 for the Scratch Trophy, totaling 1233 pins for the six game event. Norma not only won the Scratch Event but she topped all her lady bowling foes by taking first in the Handicap with a 1313 score. Winners of the two previous contests were Doris Nichol in 1963, with a score of 1316 and Lucille Batteson in 1962 with a total of 1243. Norma received a lovely sweater and purse for the Handicap and a handsome trophy tro-phy for winning the Scratch Event. |
