Show Royal Barney rites held here Monday Funeral services were held Monday in the First-Twelfth Ward Chapel for Royal Barney, Bar-ney, 70, who died Wednesday, July 1, 1964, of a heart attack at his home 1190 South, 4th East Street. y Bishop DelMoine Christensen of the Twelfth Ward, conducted conduc-ted the services. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, directed di-rected by Wheeler Mortuary. Mr. Barney was born May 31, 1894, in Escalante, son of Joseph S. and Lucy Ellen. He was married Oct. 11, 1916, to Lilly Mae Moosman in Escalante. Esca-lante. The marriage was later la-ter solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was active ac-tive in the LDS Church serving serv-ing in the Sunday School su-perintendency su-perintendency and taught the class for a number of years. He was a high priest at the time of his death. He made his home in Escalante Esca-lante where he was engaged in farming and sheep raising until 1942 when he moved to Orem. In 1943 he moved to Benjamin, where he lived until un-til 1948, when he moved to Springville. The last 12 years he was employed as a landscape land-scape gardner at BYU. Surviving are his wife of Springville; 11 children, Mrs. Ivan (Juanita) Felix, Mrs. Kent (Carla) Crandall, Mrs. Arthur (Nina) Reid and Clair Barney, all of Springville; Howard Barney, Birdseye; Mrs. Ronald (Jean) Brown, Salem, Oregon; Mrs. Tony (Fern) Collings and Mrs. George (Evelyn) Sullivan, both of California; Mrs. Frank (Cherril) Clayson, Blackfoot, Idaho; . Kay Barney, Las Vegas, Ve-gas, Nevada; Terry Barney, Granger; 41 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three brothers, John Barney, Springville; Spring-ville; Frank Barney, Sandy and Wilford Barney of Calif. |
