Show Fire restrictions now in force throughout the Wasatch Front carrying of a shovel, ax, and bucket while on National Forest For-est lands within the Boise, Challis, Payette, Salmon and Sawtooth National Forests in Idaho will become effective at 12:01 a.m., July 1, 1964, according ac-cording to Regional Forester Floyd Iverson, U.S. Forest Service. This equipment is a must for properly preparing and extinguishing ex-tinguishing campfires. The equipment requirement will apply when traveling by any vehicle, pack animal, boat, float or raft. With the advent of hot weather, wea-ther, which .creates extreme fire hazards along the Wasatch front, state forester, Paul L. Sjoblom, has. issued a fire closure proclamation. "It shall be unlawful to set campfires, trash fires or open fires of any kind, except in established public campsites and picnic areas, without a permit from a state fire warden. war-den. It is also unlawful to smoke other than within buildings build-ings and motor vehicles and within improved areas including includ-ing oiled roads, campgrounds, picnic and resort areas or improved im-proved piaces of habitation on state or privately owned lands on the Wasatch Front and Cache County extending from the north end of Wellsville Mountain south to Nophi." Anyone outside the city limits lim-its requiring a burning permit may obtain one by calling Daryl Stanley of Orem, phone 225-2576. Burning trash in open op-en containers is also illegal in the designated areas. The order or-der covers all private and state owned lands on the Wasatch Front.
