Show CHS sophs easily win BvLYNETTE SAWYER Record Reporter CEDAR CITY Carbon High School's underclassmen traveled south to take on tough Cedar sophomore and junior varsity squads last week, and Cedar easily won both contests. Carbon has reputedly had the best sophomores in the area for the last 15 to 20 years, according to Cedar City coach Steve Hodson. But everyone on the Cedar team got a chance to play in the sophomore game Friday including several Redmen freshmen. The attack from Cedar was very balanced and the Reds really had no trouhle handling the young Dino squad. According to Hodson, Cedar had "a balanced and really super attack." Roger Hulet had 11 points while Robert Pearson, Craig Cardon and Doug Greenhalgh each had 8. The same basic lineup then went against Carbon in the JV game. "Our defense was great," said Hodson. "It's really helped us to scrimmage with the varsity each day." The Redmen played man-to-man and Carbon just . couldn't penetrate. |
