Show Beaver PTA conducts fund raising carnival BEAVER A cake walk, a dart throw, fishing ponds a "different" version of pin the tail on the donkey and, of course, lots of goodies were the treats offered Feb. 3 at the Beaver Parent Teacher Association Valentine's Carnival. And, according to PTA President Debra Carter, it was a huge success. The carnival was at the Belknap Elementary School and was sponsored as a fund raiser for the PTA. Elizabeth Yardley was chairman. The money, according to Carter, has been promised to Beaver High School for a mat for the track's high jump pit. She also noted that the PTA this year has donated $500 for playground equipment at the Minersville Elementary and $500 for a copy machine at the Belknap Elementary. Fund raising and service projects by the PTA have included the selling of concessions at all ball games, a spelling bee, a New Year's Eve dance, a lazy eye clinic, educational evenings, a back-to-school night, a little girls Softball team and B-Day. |
