Show Corsages and boutonniers, flower workshop scheduled CEDAR CITY - What better way to say "Happy Valentines" than with a corsage or boutonniere, especially if you've made it yourself. A special workshop to do just that will be conducted Feb. 9 and 10 at Southern Utah State College. Workshop participants will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. both days in the Old Administration Building, room 204. Natasha Carter, a graduate of Daphne Dalley, coordinator of conferences and workshops at SUSC. "For a single $15 fee which covers registration and the cost of materials participants will learn to use floral wire and tape, make attractive bows, then select appropriate flowers and assemble a corsage and boutonniere." Registration can be completed the first night of instruction. Participants should bring their own scissors, a paring knife and a pencil. "At the first meeting students will learn to use floral tape and wire and make bows. Then they will make a boutonniere," Dalley said. On the second night, she said, workshop participants will review information from the first session, then select flowers and make a corsage. SUSC and the Cliff Man Floral School in Denver, Colo., will be the workshop instructor. Carter has worked in floral shops in Salt Lake City and Cedar City for four years.
