Show Scout recognition banquet slated CEDAR CITY The. Cedar Breaks District, Boy Scouts of America, will hold its annual recognition banquet for all leaders in the scouting program tonight at 7 p.m. at the Southern Utah State College Ballroom. David C. Norton, Cedar Breaks District chairman, will conduct the banquet and program. Special speaker for the banquet will be Elder William Pratt, Regional Representative of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. President Charles Blackburn, Council vice-president vice-president will install the district officers for the 1982 year. Two District Award of Merit and seven Second Miler Awards will be presented by the district during the evening. The District Award of Merit will be presented by President LaMar Jensen, District vice-chairman, vice-chairman, and the Second Miler Awards will be presented by President Rett Shakespear, also a District vice-chairman. Other awards that will be presented are Century Club plaques by President Kent Hugh, District vice chairman; and Training Awards and Woodbadge presentations by Daniel L. Lynch, District executive. David C. Norton will present two special scouting service awards to individuals who have contributed much time and effort to the district scouting program. Troop 343 from Parowan, under the direction of Curtis Johnson, will present the opening ceremony. The Country Fiddlers of Cedar High School will provide entertainment during the dinner. |
