Show Gro up as ks fo r re fo rm "We further appeal to the Utah State Legislature to complement com-plement the action pursued by the National Adminsitration by working for reform of the property tax." Utahns for Tax Reform passed a resolution Saturday that called for a property tax Utah Constitutional amendment amend-ment "that will remove all property taxes from improvements and personal property by the year 1988. We urge that such an amendment should provide that taxes on land values shall be increased as other property taxes decrease." Robert E. Williams, chairman of the group added, "The property tax in Utah is a mess and recent acts of the Utah Legislature are only-making only-making it worse." The resolution said, in part, "Utahns for Tax Reform support the program and efforts of the National Administration Ad-ministration to lower the federal income tax, reduce federal spending and encourage the private sector to become more productive. |
