Show IKON COUNTY RECORD . CEDAR CITY, UTAH . . l l 1 Thursday, July 3, J980 Copies Available Big Game regulations for big game permits, as they did last year. Applications Ap-plications will be accepted at any Division of Wildlife Resources office but the absolute deadline is 5:00 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 1980. A check or money order must be enclosed with the application form for all permits requested or applied for. By making application early, hunters can avoid the last minute rush and confusion con-fusion that typically accompanies ac-companies the last few days before deadline. Chaffin enocourages sportsmen to obtain a copy of this new proclamation and to studv it. Although most regulations are the same as last year there are enough changes that hunters should take the time to know first-hand what is expected of them as they go afield. Big game regulations, maps and application forms are now . available in the form of the 1980 Utah Big Game Proclamation, according ac-cording to Utah Division of Wildlife Resources Information In-formation Officer, Chris Chaffin. "Distribution of this year's big game proclamation started with distributing 190,000 copies of the magazine-style proclamation in a statewide newspaper June 22," Chaffin said. Supplies were also delivered at that time to Wildlife Resources offices, where they are now available. Distribution to license agents throughout the state has already begun and should be completed by the end of the first week in July. This year's proclamation has a new look and has been almost, entirelv redesigned to make it easier to read anc simpler to find pertinent information on specific topics. Chaffin pointed out that the tabloid proclamation includes regulations, unit descriptions and application forms for all big game species hunted in Utah, including deer, elk, antelope, an-telope, moose, buffalo and bighorn sheep. "The new organization of the proclamation divides it into specific topics, which make it much easier to find what you're looking for," Chaffin explained. There are sections on general regulations, but there are also easilty recognizable sections on trespass laws, tagging and transporting big game, firearms restrictions, bow , and arrow restrictions, primitive weapons seasons and others. Additional sections, also easily identified, iden-tified, explain regulations ' and unit descriptions for deer, elk and all other big game animals. The information officer emphasized that sportsmen 1 will again have the entire month of July (beginning July 1) to file applications |
