Show Rotary, Bettridge tie for honors in Cedar City American Little League mound duty and T. Hulet behind the plate. Winning hitters were: B. Felstead, M. Lapour, T. Hulet, T. Story. For Kiwanis hitters were: W. Heap K. Brinkerhoff, Rochelle Heap. 7 Up wiped Coleman out 20-0 with Komarek pitching 4 and Hancock 1. The Coleman team only got 2 hits and were walked 3 times. Kurtis Roundy doubled and Shawn Wright singled. There were 10 strike-outs. Base on Balls, hit pitches, and errors acounted for several of 7 Up's runs with the following hits: Curt Anderson, Greg Sanders, Craig Marchant. Thur-sday. Bettridge took a 1 run lead in the bottom of the first inning after Hayley Briggs singled and was brought in by Gale Riddle's double. Curtis Jones had singled for Rotary in the first inning but they were held scoreless. In the top of the 2nd Chris Weaver singled and got an RBI as did Ryan Harris for 3 points and a two point lead. Bettridge picked up another run in the third as Robbie Knight and B. Barton singled and they held Rotary scoreless. Scoring began in earnest in the 5th inning with Rotary picking up 4 runs via singles by R. Harris, C. Jones, J. Barney, and G. Frehner. It was no hits and 1 run for Bettridge. In the 6th Rotary scored 6 led by doubles by R. Harris and C. Jones and singles by C. Weaver and G. Frehner. The bottom of the 6th ended with 3 up- 3 down for Bettridge and their first defeat. Winning pitcher was Curtis Jones. Cater Bros, took a big 18-8 win over Realty Work. Hitters for the winners were R. Rosenberg 3 singles, L. Taylor single K. Rosenberg a double and 3 singles, C. Whetman single, T. Parry a double and a single, C. Spencer single, D. Bagley single, and c. Childs single. Kirt Rosenberg and Larin Taylor did mound duty. Realty World hitters were S. Leeder 2 singles, D. Corry single, G. Jump single, W. Chidester single D. Bolton single, M. Dedrick single, G. Stubbs single, C. Dedrick single. Coleman squeaked by Spillsbury in a tough one 8-7. with Wright and Taylor sharing mound duty. Wright singled. For Spilsbury Brent Felstead doubled and Mike Lapour singled. 7 Up soundly defeated Kiwanis 16-6 with Jeff Hancock and Brian Kamarck pitching and curt Anderson behind the plate. Hitters were: Curt Anderson, An-derson, Hancock, Dave Sanders, Craig Anderson, For Kiwanis the Hitters wer: Wes Heap, K. Brinkerhoff, Shelly Heap, Tony Robinson. Bettridge lucked out in an 8-7 victory over Carter Bros. Robbie Tuckett was the winning pitcher with Gale Riddle behind the plate. Bettridge got a two point lead in the bottom of the 1st inning and then Carter Bros, went ahead one in the top of the 2nd with 3 runs. Bettridge came back to score 6 off Carter Bros, got another run in the top of the third but remained scoreless in the 4th. Kirt Rosenberg took over on the mound at the top of the 3rd for Carter Bros, to pitch 3 up and 3 down in the final two innings. in-nings.
