Show Public Hearing to address needs of State State projections have Iron County's population nearly doubling in the next decade - without MX. If MX come to fruition, the County's growth will be staggering. How should growth in Iron County and the state be handled? Should growth be encouraged or stopped? Once it starts, is there any way local citizens can : control population growth? Growth related issues will be the subject of a County -Wide hearing Wed., July 9th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Thorley Recital Hall on the Southern Utah State College campus. Anyone with strong feelings on population growth in Iron County is encouraged to attend and speak. Hearings like this will be duplicated throughout Utah sponsored by the Governor's commission on growth in the 1980's Utah: Agenda for the Eighties Commission. Members of the commission will be in charge of this meeting. In Iron County the commission members are Senator Ivan Matheson, Michael Parks, and President Orville D. Carnahan, county chairman. Questionnaires will be available at the meeting, to be filled out by those who may not have an opportunity to speak. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss issues relating to Utah's growth and growth management as we prepare for a decade which will see Utah almost double its population.
