Applications are now being accepted by the Southern Utah State College Reading Center for children who need special tutoring in reading and spelling. The application deadline for the spring quarter program is March 1 1. "Young people from 7-17 years of age will be accepted into the program," Kent E. Myers, director of the SUSC Reading Center, said. "In special cases, adult applications ap-plications will also be considered." Each applicant is considered con-sidered on a first come, first served basis, Myers explains. ex-plains. "Only 20 students will be accepted into the clinic this coming quarer," he said. "Enrollment at the center is kept very small to insure that a high level professional diagnosis and remedial plan can be developed and carried out for each client." The clinical service includes in-cludes a complete diagnostic report-which will be completed two weeks before the session' begins-along . with tutoring twice each week. Special longer once-a-week sessions will be arranged for clients from communities outside Cedar City. Some scholarships will be offered to applicants who need financial assistance, Myers said. These will cover one-half the $25 clinical fee. The SUSC Reading Center has been established by the SUSC . Department of Teacher Education.
