Show Gymnasts host RMAC Meet Gymnasts at Southern Utah State College will take a week off from competition in preparation for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Con-ference meet to be hosted March 1 by the Thunderbirds. Thun-derbirds. A three-way meet scheduled Saturday at Price has been cancelled. Last week SUSC ran into stiff competition but "got a lot of good experience", in a pair of meets in Colorado. "We learned plenty, and we hope it will do us some good," Kathryn Berg, SUSC coach, said. The T-Birds finished behind Texas A & M, Adams State, and Southern Colorado in a four-way meet at Pueblo. The next night, SUSC finished eighth among' nine schools at the Denver University Invitational. In-vitational. Denver won that meet; Northern Colorado and Texas A & M came in second and third respectively. Also finishing ahead of the Thunderbirds were Colorado State, Air Force, Adams State, and Western State. SUSC nipped Southern Colorado for eighth place. "Debbie Johnson and Mary Damiani individually came up with their best scores ever in all-around competition Saturday at Denver," Berg reports. "They should be wbrking extra hard for the conference con-ference meet." i |
