Show Fournier in Pageant course will be taught during the three day event. Miss Fournier is being sponsored by TWA, Inc., Devi Fournier, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin A. Fournier of Cedar City has been selected to be a finalist in the 1980 Miss Utah National Teenager Pageant to be held May 2, 3, and 4 at the New Ramada Inn and the Little Theater at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City. This pageant is the official state final to the national pageant to be held in August in Atlanta, Ga. over national television. Susan Nielsen of River Heights is the reigning Miss Utah National Teenager with Tracy Maxfield as Miss Hospitality. The contestants from all over the state will be judged on scholastic achievement-leadership; achievement-leadership; poise-personality; poise-personality; appearance-beauty. appearance-beauty. There will be no swim-suit or talent competition. com-petition. Each contestant will recite a 100 word essay on the subject "What's Right About America" which is the theme of the pageant. Each contestant accepted will be requested to participate par-ticipate in the Volunteer C o m m u n i t y Service Program of the National Teenager Pageant. This teaches teenagers to become caring adults and to share in school and civic affairs. A mini-modeling charm Devi Fournier Utah Parks Division. The winner of the contest will receive among other things a $500 cash scholarhship and the opportunity op-portunity to compete in the national contest to be held in Atlanta, Ga. f |
