Show Reynolds leads Active Life the Rest Home as well as taking the responsibility for the upkeep of the flowers in the front of the homp - I) "He always gives of himself", is the best way to describe George Reynolds according to Judy VanNest, Recreation Director at the Iron County Rest Home. Mr. Reynolds has been a resident at the Rest Home for 5' years. He is a stroke victim and 77 years old, but that doesn't stop him from being one of the most productive, pleasant and thoughtful individuals I have met. His special talent is painting with oil paints and using a toothpick as a brush. This takes hours of painstaking pain-staking work, but the result is a beautiful painting to be enjoyed by all. In our home we have a painting he did which took him five months to complete. Ms. Van Nest indicates that each summer Mr. Reynolds plants a small vegetable garden in back of George Reynolds Mr. Reynolds is very outgoing; he helps others in group therapy and is always sensitive to their needs. He is teaching another stroke victim how to paint with a toothpick and always remembers everyone's birthday. Taking pictures' and keeping a scrapbook is another one of his hobbies; and he excells in cooking class and is taking guitar lessons. Born in Monroe, Mr. Reynolds has lived in California where he was an electrician and he also help to build the Hoover Dam. |
