Show Large Group Attends War Stamp-Bond Drive Women's Party Thur. Night The Woodward high school gym furnished the setting last Thursday Thurs-day evening for the Women's Week War Bond card party which brought together a large group of local women and added materially to the Bond and Stamp sale for the week in this city. All of the door ticket money was spent on Bonds and Stamps and given back to the guests in prizes. General chairman of the event was Mrs. J. J. Phoenix Jr., with Mrs. Roy Williams as program chairman, assisted at the piano by Mrs. Mae A. Pace, and by Mrs. Virgil Snow as toastmaster. The program numbers were all patriotic patri-otic and included a number by the Dixie Male Quartet, a violin quartet, quar-tet, vocal solos by Rhoda Jackson and Edna Johnson, and a vocal duet by Fred and Ferd Neilson of Washington. Mrs. Ward Esplin and Mrs. Tom Jones had charge of the decorations, decora-tions, red, white and blue flowers were combined in the patriotic theme used. In the Bridge division Mrs. Newell R. Frei received the War Bond and the smaller prizes in this division went to Maxine Slack, Mrs. C. W. Seegmiller, Mrs. Rulon Pectol, Mrs. Wayne Whitehead and Mrs. Bud Seegmiller. The Rook honors were too numerous num-erous to list, War Stamps being given at each table for various plays, sweeps and table winnings. |
