Show Dixie College Dance Revue To Be Repeated By Request By popular request, the Dixie college Dance Revue will be repeated re-peated Saturday night at 8:15 in the college auditorium. A capacity ca-pacity house witnessed the performance per-formance last Friday, and many who attended wish to see it again. Many who could not be present have also asked for the repeat revue. The finale, "I Hear America Singing", was acclaimed by many as the outstanding number. It had a patriotic appeal; grace and beauty were exceptionally well blended; and it was embellished in a very artistic manner by appropriate ap-propriate music. Taking part in this dance were: Arvena Graff, Dawn Andrus, Willa Rae Lewis, Mary Judd, Vivian Spencer, Vivian Viv-ian Covington, Elaine Cannon, Yvonne Jackson, Ila Holt, Olive Moody, Mary Nazer and Misha ! Bentley. Margaret Jones, as the ; Goddess of Liberty, drew rounds of applause as the curtains were drawn. She sang the theme words, with violin obligato by Earl J. ; Bleak. : Other Numbers Appeal Other numbers that made a wide appeal were the popular . (Continued on page eight) Dance Revue (Continued from first page) "Finlandia", representing the suffering suf-fering of this patriotic little nation, na-tion, and "Jump Rope Tap", a gymnastic dance requiring great skill and careful timing. Comedy was provided by Maur-ine Maur-ine Bentley and Blanche Bennett in "Jack and Jill", by Denzil Lightner in "Sailor's Hornpipe", and by a group of girls in "The Highland Fling", and "Can-Can". The musical interludes provided by Ruth Falck, Paul Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Earl J. Bleak and a saxophone ensemble added much to the revue. Accompanists were Paul Tompson and Olive Moody. All numbers showed skilful coaching and much practice. Miss Miss Pauline Fuller, director of physical education for girls at the college, directed the revue. |
