False Alarm? It may come under the heading of humor, and I think that the fellows in our Fire Department can see humor as well as the next man, but in my opinion the person who turned in the false fire alarm last night when the fellows were at the swimming pool, should be given a visit to the old-fashioned wood shed. It seems that the fellows were taking advantage of a swim in the City Pool, when some bird thought it would be a huge joke to turn in a false alarm that sent the firemen out to the edge of town. The boys were equal to the emergency and grabbed their slickers, put them on over their swimming suits and were on their way. The alarm also called quite a few from their homes and places of business who were not at the pool and all in ail, burned up a lot of rubber, gasoline and tempers. temp-ers. Just remember, these fellows fel-lows are doing this community service without recompense and they give enough of their time without having to chase out to the edge of town on false calls. There undoubtedly is a law covering cov-ering such monkey business, and the person who played this dumb trick, should be made to pay its penalty if he is caught.
