Show Women's War Bond Drive To Culminate In 'Molly Pitcher Day' 'Molly Pitcher Day' Girl Contest Announced For Girls Over 14 Years The War Stamp and Bond drive n o w being sponsored by the Women's County Bond Committee, under the leadership of Mrs. John J. Phoenix Jr., will culminate on July 24th in a "Molly Pitcher Day", it was announced today by Mrs. Phoenix. A big community sing and concert con-cert is being planned for that evening with the program tentatively tenta-tively under the direction of the stake M. I. A. A small charge will be made for tickets, with each person being tagged with a Molly Pitcher tag. The American Legion Auxiliary is in charge of the ticket sale for this event. The money received from the tickets sold to this event will be used to purchase War Bonds for scholarships. schol-arships. They hope to be able to purchase one each in the name of each of the four boys of Washington Wash-ington county who have lost their lives to date in the war. Feature of Program As one of the features of the program, the winner of the Molly Pitcher contest will be announced and a special Molly Pitcher song Will be presented the winner. The winner of the prize is to be determined de-termined by points given to the various contestants by those purchasing pur-chasing Bonds and Stamps. One vote is to be allowed for each 10c Stamp and three votes for each 25c Stamp purchased. The number of points to be allowed . for Bonds have not yet been determined. de-termined. The winner's win-ner's name will not be announced until the designated time on the program on the evening of July 24. The Dixie Reviewers' club was in charge of the booth in the J. C. Penney store during the first Week. They- report a sale of $591.05 in Stamps and Bonds. This week the Vesta club has taken over the booth. Two permanent board members on the county committee were announced an-nounced this week by Mrs. Phoenix. They ,are Mrs. Henry Crosby, Warsage chairwoman, and Mrs. Wayne Whitehead, club chair-iwoman. |
