Show Ensign Adelia Hall Wins Coveted "Queen of Hearts" Honor On Coast For the second year in succession St. George has supplied the "fair lady" for the Queen of Hearts at the" Sweetheart Ball of the San Francisco wards. Last year it was Miss Jane Pace, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Pace who took honors, and the 1944 queen is Ensign Adelia Hall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orson Hall of St. George and Pine Valley, Val-ley, who is a commissioned WAVE in that area. Dressed in her military 'uniform, Miss Hall said she had no thought of winning against her competitors, competi-tors, two very beautiful girls who were gowned for the event. But at the conclusion of the voting, Ensign Hall was announced as winner and crowned by a tiny girl with the official royal insignia in-signia a crown of padded silk hearts trimmed with red and silver sequins, a keepsake which she promises to mail home in the near future for the folks to take care of. |
