Show K A Of iS I -'II '"Otwt THE BRITT STRING TRIO Britt String Trio To Give Opening Program of Fine Arts Festival On Feb. 24th The Britt String Trio will give a concert as the opening program on the Fine Arts Festival. The concert will be held in the college col-lege auditorium Thursday night, Feb. 24th, at 8 p.m. This outstanding trio, on a tour from New York to California, will give an all-classical program as follows: 1. Trio in G major, Op. 9, No. 1, L. van Beethoven; Adagio, allegro al-legro con brio; Adagio ma non tanto e cantabile; Scherzo, allegro) al-legro) ; Pesto. 2. Three movements from Serenade, Ser-enade, Op. 10, E. Dohnanyi, Allegro; Al-legro; Romanza; Rondo. 3. Trio in C Minor, Op. 101, J. Brahms, Allegro energico; Presto non assai; Andante grazioso; Allegro Al-legro molto. The first two numbers will include in-clude the violin, viola and cello. The third number will be with the piano, the violin and the cello. Three In Ensemble The ensemble is composed of Horace Britt, cellist; Viola -West-erlain, violinist; and Conrad Held, violist and pianist. The Festival art exhibit will also open Thursday. On Friday . afternoon at 3 o'clock, Feb. 25th, a concert will be given under the direction of Earl J. Bleak, J. W. McAllister and Mrs. Janice Merrill. On the evening of Feb. 25th and on Saturday, Feb. 26th, the Festival play, "The Green Vine', directed by Miss Myrtle Henderson, Hender-son, will be presented. This is a pleasing mystery comedy. All the programs will be in the college auditorium. Chairman of the Festival committee com-mittee is Ralph Huntsman. He is assisted by Miss Linna Snow, Miss Myrtle Henderson, Mrs. Janice Merrill, Earl J. Bleak, J. W. McAllister Mc-Allister and Stanley Watts. |
