Show Quilt Donated By Mrs. John Riding To Be Auctioned off Saturday A quilt top, designed and donated by Mrs. John Riding, will be auctioned auc-tioned off between the halves of the basketball game with Kanab Saturday night. This auction is one of several projects worked out by the college military scholarship, committee to swell the scholarship scholar-ship funds. Mrs. Riding is an expert at making quilts, and she is using this method of helping Uncle Sam and Dixie's boys who will use the scholarships when they return from service. The work is done by hand. Those who attend the basketball basket-ball game will also be asked to i donate a 10c war stamp to the scholarship fund. Tonight in the gymnasium a new type of entertainment is being be-ing sponsored by the committee, a stocking shuffle. Instead of the usual checking of hats and wraps, it will be the shoes that will be put away. Besides dancing, a number of special features have been arranged. The admission (Continued on page eight) Dixie Scholarship Fund (Continued from first page) price will be a 25c war stamp. The committee has set the goal for the year at $1,000, an amount exceeded last year. |
