Show Dixie College News Through an oversight, the quilt top designed by Mrs. John Riding was not auctioned off last Saturday Satur-day night at the basketball game. The Scholarship Bond committee announces, however, that it will be auctioned off during the rest period between halves of the Enterprise-Dixie game this Saturday. Mrs. Riding donated the quilt top as- a means of helping the sale of war stamps to establish scholarships for our boys in the service, also as an individual service serv-ice to her country. The committee has added approximately ap-proximately $60 to the fund during dur-ing the week. A total of $31.50 was realized at the "stocking shuffle" last Thursday night and $14 at the basketball game last Saturday. The remainder was contributed by students and teachers teach-ers at the college. Another project planned by the committee is a boxing tourney some time next month. D.J.C. Mrs. Ann Pace reviewed the comic operetta, "Bui Bui", by Inch and Herbert, in the college assembly last Friday. She was assisted by Mrs. Rhoda Jackson and Mrs. Edna Johnson, who sang numbers from the operetta. D. J.C. A conference of the home economics eco-nomics teachers of Utah will be held in St. George on Saturday, Mar. 4th. D. J. C Stanford Stirling and Maurine Jones were honored in the college assembly Friday for their scholarship, scholar-ship, initiative and leadership. A. K. Hafen presented to each a book, "I Dare You", donated by the Danworth Foundation of New York. This award is made annually an-nually by the Foundation to representative rep-resentative prospective high school graduates. D. J. C. The college intramural program in basketball is nearing its completion. com-pletion. Many exciting games have been played in both the girls and the boys diviisons.
